چکیده

CHR∨ has emerged as a versatile knowledge representation language, usable for an unparalleled variety of automated reasoning tasks: constraint solving, optimization, classification, subsumption, classical deduction, abduction, truth-maintenance, belief revision, belief update and planning. In this paper, we add default reasoning to this list, by showing how to represent default logic theories in CHR∨. We then discuss how to leverage this representation together with the well-know correspondence between default logic and Negation As Failure (NAF) in logic programming, to propose an extension CHR∨,naf of CHR∨ allowing NAF in the rule heads.

The CHR-based Implementation of the SCIFF Abductive System

Abduction is a form of inference that supports hypothetical reasoning and has been applied to a number of domains, such as diagnosis, planning, protocol verification. Abductive Logic Programming (ALP) is the integration of abduction in logic programming. Usually, the operational semantics of an ALP language is defined as a proof procedure. The first implementations of ALP proof-procedures were ...

A Unified Semantics for Constraint Handling Rules in Transaction Logic

Reasoning on Constraint Handling Rules (CHR) programs and their executional behaviour is often ad-hoc and outside of a formal system. This is a pity, because CHR subsumes a wide range of important automated reasoning services. Mapping CHR to Transaction Logic (T R) combines CHR rule specification, CHR rule application, and reasoning on CHR programs and CHR derivations inside one formal system w...

The cerebellum and learning of non-motor associations in individuals at clinical-high risk for psychosis

The cerebello-thalamo-cortical circuit (CTCC) has been implicated in schizophrenia. However, this work has been limited to structural and functional networks, or behavior, and to date, has not been evaluated in clinical high-risk (CHR) youth, a group at elevated risk for psychosis. Here, we used an innovative learning paradigm known to activate the CTCC (while limiting potential motor confounds...

Deficient Suppression of Default Mode Regions during Working Memory in Individuals with Early Psychosis and at Clinical High-Risk for Psychosis

BACKGROUND The default mode network (DMN) is a set of brain regions typically activated at rest and suppressed during extrinsic cognition. Schizophrenia has been associated with deficient DMN suppression, though the extent to which DMN dysfunction predates psychosis onset is unclear. This study examined DMN suppression during working memory (WM) performance in youth at clinical high-risk (CHR) ...

Reasoning about passive declarations in CHR

The programming language of Constraint Handling Rules (CHR) is gaining more and more popularity and this has motivated the development of new optimization techniques to be applied in implementations of CHR. As for other logic programming languages, a program written CHR can be understood declaratively as a logical formula and as a procedural specification, and CHR has different tools for manual...
